The young generation in the SVP (short: JG ) is the youth organization of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), the collecting party of the German and Ladin South Tyroleans.

description

The Young Generation (JG) is the largest political youth organization in South Tyrol with approx. 6000 members and the community of all members of the South Tyrolean People's Party from 14 to 30 years of age. The JG is represented by over 100 local youth groups across the country. Its main task is to represent youth policy and the interests of young people. In addition, contact and cooperation with all youth associations and organizations in the country should be sought. Relationships with various youth associations are also to be established and expanded at European level.

The logo of the young generation was redesigned in 2007. Now the colors black, red and white are used, the last two being the colors of the Tyrolean flag.

The "Klartext" (formerly "Junge ZIS") is the magazine for the younger generation.

Structure of the organization

The local youth groups are grouped in the districts of Bozen - city and country, Brixen, Burggrafenamt, Pustertal, Unterland, Vinschgau and Wipptal. Each of these districts is represented by the district youth officer and his two deputies in the state youth management. This also includes the Presidium, which is made up of the state youth officer, his three deputies (one female, one male and one Ladin), the manager, the two district representatives and the international officer.

The state youth assembly is the highest body of the young generation and is convened once a year. Every three years it elects the state youth officer and his three deputies.

history

The young generation was founded as SVP youth on April 19, 1970 at the 1st regular state youth assembly in the Waltherhaus in Bozen. The first elected state youth officer was Hans Benedikter. His deputies were Hans Bauer and Klaus Dubis , the Ladin deputy was Ferdinand Mussner and the first state youth secretary was Klaus Gruber. Already in 1966/67 the local youth committees began with the establishment and in 1967 was Caldaro Erich Spitaler ordered for the first national youth secretary of the SVP and supervised the construction of the youth organization. In 1968 the rules of procedure of the SVP youth were approved by the party committee and in 1969 there were already 105 local groups and 244 local youth officers.

International work and membership in associations

The young generation in the SVP is represented in various international associations. These are the Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP) - the youth organization of the European People's Party (EVP) - the Democrat Youth Community of Europe (DEMYC), the Young Alpine Region and the Young European Region Tyrol .

The JG is a member of the Südtiroler Jugendring (SJR).
