Philipp Friedel

Philipp Friedel (born May 29, 1987 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German basketball player on the position of development player. The 1.85 meter tall Friedel played for Tübingen and Braunschweig in the basketball league as well as for several second division clubs .

career

Friedel started playing basketball in his hometown of Freiburg im Breisgau at the age of eleven. After his first appearances for USC Freiburg in the 2nd basketball league  , he joined the Walter Tigers Tübingen  in 2006, making the leap into the basketball league . For the 2007/08 season he went back to the second division and wore the shirt of the Ehingen / Urspring syndicate .

In the summer of 2008 it went back to the "upper house", Friedel was signed by the Phantoms Braunschweig . He stayed with the Lower Saxony until 2010, received short appearances in the Bundesliga and was a key player in the Braunschweig support team in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . Following the 2009/10 season, he was recognized by the internet service eurobasket.com as the ProB player who had the best development over the course of the year and who improved his performance the most.

In the 2010/11 season he played for the GiroLive-Ballers Osnabrück in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA  , in 2011/12 he was part of the Giants Düsseldorf team (also ProA), followed by two years (2012 to 2014) at Crailsheim Merlins , with whom he reached the ProA final series in 2014. There Friedel and the Crailsheimers of the BG Göttingen had to admit defeat. By making it into the final, both teams were already guaranteed promotion to the Bundesliga.

The 2014/15 round of games, during which he was  under contract with SC Rasta Vechta in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA, marked the end of his competitive sports career .
