Philipp von Gehren
Philipp Hermann Ernst von Gehren (born June 27, 1868 in Homberg an der Efze , † September 12, 1931 in Czychen , Oletzko district , Masuria ) was a German administrative officer and manor owner.
Life
Born the son of the Hessian administrative officer and politician Otto von Gehren , Philipp von Gehren studied law at the University of Leipzig and the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1888 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Leipzig . In 1889 he also joined the Corps Hasso-Nassovia . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1899 to 1900 he was in the government in Kassel and the government in Potsdam . As a government assessor , he was appointed district administrator of the Goldap district in 1906 . In 1919 he left office. He then lived until his death as a manor owner in Czychen, Oletzko district . From 1929 until his death on September 12, 1931, he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of East Prussia for the DNVP . Like his brother Reinhard von Gehren , he was a legal knight of the Order of St. John . The conductor Christian von Gehren is a great-grandson.
