Reinhard von Gehren

Reinhard Reinhold von Gehren (born December 24, 1865 in Ziegenhain , † June 8, 1930 in Karlsbad ) was a German politician.

Life

Gehren was a son of the district administrator and secret councilor Otto von Gehren in Homberg (Efze) and his wife Wilhelmine nee. of miter. He attended high school in Hersfeld and studied law at the Philipps University in Marburg and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1884 he became a member of the Corps Hasso-Nassovia . As a one-year volunteer , he served in the 1st Pomeranian Field Artillery Regiment No. 2 in Stettin . He then worked as a trainee lawyer in Homberg, Marburg and Lüneburg and from 1894 as a government assessor in Berlin. In 1896 he became district administrator of the Homberg district . For several years he was a member of the Kassel Municipal Parliament and the Provincial Parliament of the Hesse-Nassau Province . From 1912 to 1918 Gehren belonged to the conservative faction of the Prussian House of Representatives . In 1918 he became governor for Hesse and the province of Hesse-Nassau in Kassel. In 1921 he became a member of the Prussian State Council . Gehren was chairman of the conservative association for Hesse and Waldeck and founder and first chairman of the state association of the German National People's Party for the province of Hesse-Nassau.

Gehren was married to Luise von Heyer, widowed von Normann (born August 27, 1880 in Berlin; † December 9, 1954 there). His brother Philipp von Gehren was the district administrator of the Goldap district in East Prussia .
