Philipp Ritter von Zaleski

Filip Krzysztof Artur Zaleski (born September 25, 1836 in Lemberg , † September 21, 1911 in Truskavets ) was a lawyer and a noble Polish- Austrian politician.

He was imperial governor in the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria and minister. Filip Zaleski was the son of Governor Wacław Michał Zaleski and Teresa von Bołoz Antoniewicz. He came from an old noble family (Zaleski von Otok of the Dolega coat of arms) who owned large estates in Eastern Galicia. He studied law in Lviv and Vienna . After graduating, he began a civil service career and in 1883 became governor of Galicia. From 1881 to 1907 he sat in the Galician state parliament , from 1889 to 1897 in the House of Representatives , where he was a member and temporarily chairman of the Polish Club.

From 1888-1893 he was Minister without Portfolio in the Austrian government. In 1897 he became a member of the manor for life.

From 1877 to 1884 Zaleski was a member of the council of the Museum of Urban Industry in Lviv and from 1880 to 1883 he was president of the Galician Music Society in Lviv.

With his wife Aleksandra, née Countess Suchodolska, he had the children Maria, Teresa, Izydora, Wacław Michał and Antonina.
