The Russel-fire herb ( Phlomis russian liana ) is a plant of the genus phlomis ( Phlomis ) in the family of Labiatae (Lamiaceae).

features

The Russel fire herb is a perennial herbaceous plant with a rhizome that reaches heights of 40 to 100 centimeters. The blade of the lower leaves is ovate, heart-shaped at the base.

The flowers are usually in two to three, rarely up to five pseudo whorls. The bracteoles are awl-shaped and 1 to 2 millimeters wide. The flower is zygomorphic .

The flowering period extends from June to July.

Occurrence

The Russel smut herb occurs in northern Anatolia in coniferous and deciduous forests, on clear-cuts and in hazelnut bushes at altitudes of 300 to 1700 meters.
