The meeting with the legal historian Francesco Schupfer in 1898 at the University of Rome had a lasting effect on Leicht's scientific orientation. After brief stops in Camerino , Siena and Cagliari , he taught legal history at the University of Modena from 1913 and at the University of Bologna from 1921 . In 1923 he joined the Fascist Party of Italy and became a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies during the XXVII. and XXVIII. Legislative period (1924–1934). In 1934 Leicht was appointed senator , from 1935 he worked at the University of Rome , from 1938 as president of the Faculty of Law. From 1936 to 1938 he was also Vice President of the Italian National Academy , to which he had been a member since 1920.
