Pierre-Macario Saba
Pierre-Macario Saba , also Pierre-Macarios Saba (born February 14, 1873 in Aleppo , Syria , † July 28, 1943 ) was a Syrian clergyman and archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Aleppo in Syria.
Life
Pierre-Macario Saba was ordained a priest on March 3, 1898 . At the same time he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Alexandria , he was appointed titular bishop of Palmyra on November 29, 1903 . Patriarch Archbishop Kyrillos VIII. Geha of Antioch donated him the episcopal ordination on the same day ; He was supported by the co-consecrators Archbishop Gaudenzio Bonfigli OFM , Apostolic Delegate of Egypt , and Joseph Dumáni BS , Melkite Bishop of Tripoli in Lebanon .
On June 25, 1919, he was appointed Archbishop of Aleppo and remained in this responsibility until his death.
