history

The Archeparchy Tripoli was founded on March 21, 1897 by Pope Leo XIII. erected as the Tripoli eparchy . It was subordinated to the Archparchy of Tire as a suffragan diocese. On November 18, 1964, the Tripoli eparchy was founded by Pope Paul VI. raised to an arch parish.
