Pierre Etique

Pierre Etique (born February 12, 1945 in Pruntrut ; † November 20, 1993 in Basel , entitled to live in Bure ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Etique completed the commercial baccalaureate at the canton school in Pruntrut and later obtained a degree in economics from the University of Neuchâtel . From 1968 he was a teacher at the commercial school of Pruntrut and headed it from 1970.

In 1968 he became general secretary of the FDP of the Pruntrut district . From 1970 to 1978 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . Before he became the spokesman for the Liberals in the Constitutional Council from 1976 to 1978, he was a staunch opponent of the secession of the Canton of Jura . He was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Jura in 1978, but did not accept the election because he was not allowed to sit as a civil servant. On November 28, 1983, he was elected to the National Council and defended the interests of the newly created canton. In 1990 he took a seat on the management of the FDP Switzerland. In 1993 he died in office in Basel.
