Piet Leidreiter (born February 2, 1965 in Bremen ) is a German politician . He was Federal Treasurer until May 2015 and a member of the AfD until July 2015 . He was a founding member of the Alliance for Progress and Awakening (ALFA) and was a member of Bremen's citizenship from 2015 to 2019 . Since June 12, 2017 he has been a member of the voters' association Bürger in Wut (BIW).

Family, education and work

After graduating from high school and completing vocational training as a tax clerk , Leidreiter studied business administration with a focus on law. He is a manager in the family's own tax consulting company.

He is married, has one daughter and lives in Bremen-Mitte .

politics

Leidreiter joined the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in 2013 and was a founding member of the Bremen State Association . At the founding meeting, he was elected state treasurer of the Bremen regional association. At the member party conference in Erfurt in 2014 he was elected treasurer of the federal association. The AfD Goldshop was set up under the leadership of Leidreiter , which brought in millions of euros in income from business activities.

In the state elections in Bremen 2015 , Leidreiter was elected to the state.

In July 2015, he resigned from the party after the AfD federal party conference in Essen. In the same month he helped found the Alliance for Progress and Awakening (ALFA). In the Bremen citizenship he belonged to the group ALFA-Gruppe-Bremen , which was called Bremer Bürgerliche Reformer between July 13 and 28, 2015 and was previously the AfD group. In the parliamentary ALFA-Gruppe-Bremen he was deputy chairman and parliamentary managing director. Leidreiter is a member of the budget and finance committee and a deputy member of the deputation for economy, labor and ports. At the founding meeting of the ALFA regional association in Bremen in September 2015, Leidreiter was elected its state treasurer. In November 2016, the Alliance for Progress and Awakening was renamed Liberal-Conservative Reformer (LKR) due to a lost name dispute.

In June 2017, Leidreiter and Klaus Remkes declared that they were converting to the right-wing conservative and right-wing populist voter association Bürger in Wut (BIW). In the Bremen citizenship, Jan Timke , Piet Leidreiter and Klaus Remkes formed the parliamentary group BIW until 2019. At the beginning of 2019, Leidreiter was elected Deputy Federal Chairman and Deputy Bremen State Chairman of the BIW.

In the general election in Bremen 2019 , he lost his mandate in the Bremen parliament.

In 2019, Leidreiter was elected to the advisory board of the Bremen district of Horn-Lehe .
