Jan Timke (born January 3, 1971 in Hoya ) is a German politician ( STATT , Schill , BIW ). He is chairman and co-founder of the right-wing populist voter association Bürger in Wut (BIW), founded in 2004 .

Family, education and work

Timke grew up in the Lower Saxony district of Nienburg / Weser . After completing secondary school, he began his training with the Federal Border Police in 1988 . After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he was transferred to the German-Polish border at his own request, where he worked, among other things, in a special unit to fight organized crime . In 1999 Timke moved to the Federal Criminal Police Office in Berlin and worked there in personal protection . Between 2004 and 2008 Timke was again employed by the Federal Police . Since September 23, 2008 he has been a member of the Bremen citizenship .

Timke is married and has three children.

In 1991, at the age of 20, Timke entered the list of a local electorate in the local council of his hometown Drakenburg . He joined the Statt party and became deputy chairman of the Lower Saxony regional association. He later became regional chairman of the Bremen Statt party, which he left in 2001.

In 2001 Timke joined the Rule of Law Offensive party of Hamburg magistrate Ronald Schill . Under Timke's leadership, the Bremen Statt party disbanded in favor of the Schill party. Timke became chairman of the new Bremen regional association of the Schill party. In the general election in Bremen in 2003 , Timke stood as the top candidate for the Rule of Law Offensive party, which achieved a nationwide result of 4.41%.

After the dissolution of the Bremen regional association of the Schill party, Timke founded the voters' association Bürger in Anger . As their top candidate, Timke took part again in May 2007 in the election for Bremen citizenship . In the Bremerhaven electoral area , the BIW achieved a result of 5.29% after a by-election on July 6, 2008 and Timke moved into the citizenship.

In June 2008, the Bremen Public Prosecutor's Office brought charges of fraud against Timke because they accused Timke of faking his main residence in Bremerhaven in order to participate in the election. After several days of negotiations, the Bremerhaven District Court acquitted the BIW politician on January 27, 2009, also at the request of the public prosecutor.

In the 2011 mayor election , Timke again moved into the citizenry (Landtag) for the BIW via the Bremerhaven electoral area. In the 2015 state elections, BIW was re-elected through the Bremerhaven area. He is represented there in the state deputation for home affairs. In addition, he was elected to the Bremerhaven city council, of which he has been a member since 2008.

On June 12, 2017, the LKR MPs Piet Leidreiter and Klaus Remkes went over to the citizens in anger. Since then, they and Timke have formed the parliamentary group BIW in the Bremen citizenship.

End of August 2018 it was announced that Timke an arrest warrant , the result of a homicide in Chemnitz , was issued on his Facebook page posted on the Internet and official secrets betrayed. On this occasion, his private rooms in Bremerhaven were searched. On August 30, 2018, Jan Timke admitted to having published the arrest warrant. He saw the internal document on Facebook and distributed it there. However, he is not the author of this leak.
