Pietro Lagnese (born September 9, 1961 in Vitulazio , Province of Caserta , Italy ) is Bishop of Ischia .

Life

Pietro Lagnese wrote in 1980 the seminary Alessio Ascalesi of Naples one. He was ordained a deacon on September 21, 1985 . The Archbishop of Capua , Luigi Diligenza , finally ordained him on May 1, 1986 as a priest . In October of the same year he was first parish priest in his hometown Vitualzio. In 1988 he became rector of the Capua Seminary, which he remained until 1994. In 1989 Lagnese was General Secretary of the 31st Synod of the Archdiocese of Capua. In 2001 Archbishop Bruno Schettino appointed him head of the diocesan office for family pastoral care. In 2010 he finally became rector of the Alessio Ascalesi seminary , where he himself had studied.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Ischia on February 23, 2013. The Archbishop of Naples, Crescenzio Cardinal Sepe , ordained him episcopal on May 1st of the same year; Co- consecrators were Armando Dini , Archbishop Emeritus of Campobasso-Boiano , and Arturo Aiello , Bishop of Teano-Calvi .
