Pigeon Toe ( English for sickle foot ) is a German progressive rock band from Freiburg im Breisgau .

history

The band was founded in 2009 by the brothers Martin and Hans Fischer. Both had the idea of a new musical project alongside their main bands Fear My Thoughts , Backslide and Mongouse since last year. After the band Mongouse broke up, the brothers invested more time in their new project, which was given the working title Pigeon Toe. The band name comes from the song of the same name by the American stoner rock band Fu Manchu .

The band was completed by the drummer Norman Lonhard, the guitarist Patrick Hagmann and the bassist Ben Krahl. Lonhard and Hagmann had previously played with Martin Fischer in Fear My Thoughts, while Krahl was active in the band Final Kings. After touring in the opening act for Karnivool and Long Distance Calling , Pigeon Toe was signed to the record label Lifeforce Records in January 2012 .

In April 2012, the debut album The First Perception was released. The album cover for it was drawn by Martin Fischer, while a music video was shot for the song The Man With the Cat . Martin Fischer joined Long Distance Calling at the end of 2012, while Norman Lonhard is also active in the Swiss band Triptykon .
