history

The roots of the law firm go back to the year 1769. The law firm in its present form and size is primarily the result of various mergers over the past 20 years.

In 1995, "Pinsent & Co.", a leading law firm from Birmingham, and "Simpson Curtis", a leading law firm from Leeds, merged to become "Pinsent Curtis". 2001 "Pinsent Curtis" merged with "Biddle & Co." to "Pinsent Curtis Biddle". In 2002 the firm "Garretts" from Birmingham was taken over and "Pinsent Curtis Biddle" traded as "Pinsent" from 2003.

Masons was a London-based law firm specializing in the construction industry and outsourcing .

In 2004 Pinsent and Masons merged to become "Pinsent Masons".

In 2008 the previous partnership was converted into a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

In May 2012, Pinsent Masons took over McGrigors, one of the leading law firms in Scotland until the takeover. With the takeover, Pinsent Masons is one of the few law firms with offices in all three jurisdictions of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Northern Ireland).

In 2012/2013, the law firm also increased its international presence and opened offices in Germany (Munich, July 2012), France (Paris, September 2012) and Turkey (Istanbul, April 2013). The offices in China (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong) as well as in Singapore have been significantly expanded.
