Pinudjem II. , Also Pinodjem II. , Was during the outgoing 21st Dynasty ( Third Intermediate Period ) in the years 990 to 969 BC. Chr. High Priest of Amun in Thebes .

family

Pinudjem II was the son of the high priest Mencheperre and Isetemachbit III. and the brother of his predecessor Smendes II. In his first marriage Pinudjem was married to his sister Isetemachbit IV . Their son was Psusennes II. His second wife was a daughter of his brother, Neschons . From this marriage his daughter Nesitaneb-aschru was born.

Domination

Since both Pinudjem II and his wife Neschons held a large number of priestly offices, they both had the right to a correspondingly high income. Neschons was, among other things, head of the southern foreigners and viceroy of Nubia .

Pinudjem II and Neschons were buried in the cachette of Deir el-Bahari (DB320). The cachette served as a mummy depot from the 22nd dynasty , which was created under Scheschonq I to protect against grave robbers.
