Pippelstein is a district in the Lustheide district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

Pippelstein is an early modern settlement that is recorded with this name in the original cadastre . The yard was probably created in the 15th century. It was named Doppelsteingut after a border marking in the form of a double stone . The current name is based on an incorrect tradition. The original name double stone was about the intermediate forms Dubbelstein, Dippel stone and ripple stone for today's name Pippelstein falsified.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Porz , shows that the residential area was categorized as a courtyard in 1715 and was named Diedpetsch . The chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking shows that at that time Pippelstein was part of the Refrath honor in the parish of Bensberg .

Under French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Porz office was dissolved and Pippelstein was politically assigned to Mairie Bensberg in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Bensberg in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Pipelstein and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Pippelstein . From the Prussian new admission in 1892 it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Pippelstein or without a name.

Due to the Cologne Act , the city of Bensberg was merged with Bergisch Gladbach to form the city of Bergisch Gladbach with effect from January 1, 1975. Pippelstein also became part of Bergisch Gladbach.
