In the event of an attack, he receives help from the small crook Slim, who then accompanies him. They ride to Benton, where they want to persuade the banker Solvey about the location of a suspected treasure. Geremia disguises herself as a priest who, with the help of Slim, is able to perform miracles. Solvey has a remorse because the money comes from dirty business. After he got rid of Geremia anyway, Slim and Lucy try their luck with him.
Meanwhile, Geremia is wanted by Solvey’s people because his fraud has been exposed; Slim rushes to his aid again. They stage Geremia's death and from now on they believe that his ghost appears in town every now and then - with this new trick they want to finally find out where the money is hiding. When it finally appears, none of the luck seekers gets it, but it remains with the inhabitants of the town.
criticism
