The Pyosha ( Russian Пёша; Пеша ( Pescha )) is a tributary of the Barents Sea in the Arkhangelsk Oblast and in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug in northwestern Russia .
The Pyosha rises 120 km south of the Chosha Bay in the Arkhangelsk Oblast. From there it winds through a swampy tundra landscape north to Chosha Bay, on whose eastern south coast it flows into the Barents Sea. The Pyosha has a length of 257 km. It drains an area of 5060 km². The river is fed by snowmelt as well as precipitation . In the months of May and June, the Pyosha floods . The settlements Wolokowaja , Verkhnyaya Pjoscha , Nizhnyaya Pjoscha and Beluschje on the right bank of the mouth lie along the course of the river.
