The Chosha Bay (alternative spelling: Choshabucht ) ( Russian Чёшская губа , Tschjoschskaja guba , also transcribed as Tschescha Bay ) is a bay or a gulf of the Barents Sea of the Arctic Ocean in the Russian Oblast Arkhangelsk (more precisely in the autonomous Nenets ) between the east coast of the Kanin Peninsula and the opposite mainland.

The gulf forms an oval with a width of 130 km and a height of 110 km. The opening to the Barents Sea, in front of which the island of Kolguiev lies at a distance of 100 km , between Cape Mikulkin and the Barmin headland is about 50 km wide. There the sea depth is 55 m, otherwise it is less than 50 m, with several shallows and sandbanks 2 to 3 m deep. Many rivers flow into the Gulf, including Chosha , Wischas , Oma , Pjoscha and Wolonga . The flat tundra landscape of the North Russian Lowlands extends south of the bay .
An endemic subspecies of the herring , the so-called Tschoscha-Pschora-Herring ( Clupea palasii suworovi ) lives in the fish-rich Gulf .
Chosha Bay is one of the historical bays of Russia, the whole area has the legal status of internal Russian waters.
