Pjotr ​​Jefimowitsch Todorovsky ( Russian Пётр Ефимович Тодоровский , scientific transliteration Pëtr Efimovič Todorovskij ; born August 26, 1925 in Bobrynez , Ukrainian SSR ; † May 24, 2013 in Moscow ) was a Russian director and composer , screenplay .

Life

Todorowski attended the military school in Saratov from 1943 and was drafted into the war in 1944, where he was wounded. Todorowski was still active as an officer until 1949 and then enrolled at the Gerasimow Institute for Cinematography , where he studied with cameraman Boris Woltschek until 1954 . He then worked as a cameraman at the Odessa film studio for almost ten years. Todorowski made his film debut as a cameraman in 1955 in Vltava Melodies by Vasiliewski, and in 1956 spring followed on Zarechnoi Street . Todorowski drew international attention in 1965 when he received the prize for best film debut at the Venice International Film Festival for loyalty . He became known as the director of the film Frontromanze , which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1984.

Todorowski wrote film scores and wrote screenplays for several films, which he also directed. In Был месяц май (1970) and Трясина (1977) he also appeared as an actor.
