Plachwitz

Plachwitz was a village in what is now the municipality of Hohe Börde , district of Niederndodeleben in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Plachwitz (also Platzfeld or Plochovisci ) was west of the village of Olvenstedt , on both sides of the stream of the Große Sülze , a little east of the point where the Bundesstraße 1 now crosses the Große Sülze. Therefore the approximate location situation should at the coordinate 52 ° 9 '11.2 "  N , 11 ° 32' 23"  O coordinates: 52 ° 9 '11.2 "  N , 11 ° 32' 23"  O have been located.

The first mention of the place as, among other things Plachwitz year was 937 by Otto I the Moritz Monastery was given. As early as in the Middle Ages , the village, like several other places in the region, was abandoned by its inhabitants and turned into a desert . In 1349 sold Archbishop Otto several lands in the area and also the desolate place Plachwitz to the cathedral chapter Magdeburg .

Today a street in Olvenstedt is still reminiscent of Plachwitz as Plachwitzer Weg .
