Placide Lubamba Ndjibu

Placide Lubamba Ndjibu MAfr (born October 26, 1959 in Lubumbashi , Democratic Republic of the Congo ) is Bishop of Kasongo .

Life

Placide Lubamba Ndjibu was born on October 26, 1959 in the Diocese of Lubumbashi. He received his religious training at the seminary in La Ruizizi in the Archdiocese of Bukavu (1982–1985), then entered the religious community of the White Fathers (Africa missionaries) and completed the novitiate in Friborg in Switzerland (1985–1986). He did his pastoral internship in the diocese of Nouna-Dédougou in Burkina Faso (1986–1988). He then studied theology at the Institut Catholique in Toulouse in France (1988–1991). He was ordained a priest on July 27, 1991 .

After his ordination he held the following offices: 1991–1994 vicar in the parish of Notre Dame des Champs in the Archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso); 1994–1996 studied journalism and communication science at the University of Friborg; 1996–1998 editor of the White Fathers magazine Vivant Univers , in Belgium; 1998–2002 vicar and pastor of the parish Sacre Cœur in the diocese of Manzeze (Tanzania); 2002–2007 editor of the KARIBU news service in Bukavu and chaplain of the Wima high school and the barracks in Saio in Bukavu; 2007–2010 pastor of the parish of Sainte Bernadette in Lubumbashi. Since September 1, 2010, he was Provincial of the White Fathers for Central Africa, based in Bukavu.

On March 11, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Kasongo. The Archbishop of Bukavu , François-Xavier Maroy Rusengo , donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Butembo-Beni , Melchizedec Sikuli Paluku , and the Bishop of Goma , his predecessor Théophile Kaboy Ruboneka .
