The Roman Catholic Diocese of Butembo-Beni ( lat. : Dioecesis Butembensis-Benensis ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Butembo .
history
The diocese Butembo-Beni was founded on April 9, 1934 by Pope Pius XI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Quo latius from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Stanley Falls as Mission sui juris Beni nel Congo Belga . The Mission sui juris Beni nel Congo Belga was founded on February 9, 1938 by Pius XI. raised to the apostolic vicariate .
On November 10, 1959, the Vicariate Apostolic Beni nel Congo Belga by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bukavu as a suffragan . The diocese of Beni nel Congo Belga was renamed on July 7, 1960 in the diocese of Beni . On February 7, 1967, the diocese of Beni was renamed the Diocese of Butembo-Beni .
