The plate Bach is a little longer than a kilometer left and southwestern tributary of the Great Gaißach in the natural area Tolz-Tegernsee-Chiemgau Flyschalpen belonging northern foothills of the western Mangfall mountains on the territory of the municipality Waakirchen in Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach .

The Plattenbach arises from the confluence of a cluster of up to one kilometer long ditches on the north and east slopes of the Rechelkopf and Sulzkopf below the Sigrizalm, the highest source of which is at almost 1260  m above sea level. NHN is and the last at 976  m above sea level. NHN have completely united. It flows largely in a north-easterly direction, passes the Ochsenhütte and finally flows out at around 860  m above sea level. NHN in the Gaißach.

The Plattenbach runs in one of the northern foothills of the western Mangfall Mountains.
