play loud! productions is an independent film production company and also a DVD and record label. It was founded in 1997 by the filmmakers Dietmar Post and Lucía Palacios in New York City . That was play loud! Involved in the creation of various award-winning documentaries: Wall Street - A film about money by Thomas Schadt , The Nomi Song by Andrew Horn , Das Netz by Lutz Dammbeck , Walker Evans by Reiner Holzemer and La Espalda del Mundo by Javier Corcuera. In addition to advertising, short films, EPKs and videos, play loud! increasingly own short films and documentaries. In 2002 the company moved to the eastern part of Berlin . Since 2006 it has also acted as a DVD and record label and stands in a tradition with artists who have always published themselves, such as B. Mark Twain , Walt Whitman , Can , ESP, Ton Steine Schherd , Dead Kennedys , EA80 , Einstürzende Neubauten , Frederick Wiseman , DA Pennebaker or EA80. So play loud belongs ! productions are one of the few film companies that publish their films on their own label. Critics call Post and Palacios the German counterpart to Direct Cinema directors DA Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus. In 2008 they won the renowned Adolf Grimme Prize for the film Monks - The Transatlantic Feedback .
