The Plazský potok (German Bleisbach , also Bleißbach or Pleis ) is a right tributary of the Oder in the Czech Republic.
geography
The Plazský potok has its source two kilometers northeast of Kozlov in the Oberhuben Mountains belonging to the Oder Mountains on the Libavá military training area ; its source is north of the road from Potštát to Velký Újezd not far from the Zelený kříž ( Green Cross ) on the northern slope of the Křížový Kopec ( Cross Hill , 661 m). On its course to the north, the stream is dammed east of the Čermná desert in the Čermná reservoir, which, with 7.5 ha of water, is the second largest in the military area after the Barnov reservoir. The largest tributary is the Milovanský potok. In the southern foot of the Oderský vrch ( Oderberg , 582 m), the Plazský potok flows into the Oder after approx. 13 kilometers between the desert areas Údolná and Mastník opposite the Libavský potok .
nature
The strongly meandering stream runs in a flat hollow exclusively through unpopulated area. Even before the military training area was established, there were no village settlements directly on Plazský potok. The villages Groß Dittersdorf and Milbes only stretched along the tributaries Čermná and Milovanský potok . The water power was used to drive several mills, the Hermsdorfer Mühle, Dorfmühle, Hofmühle, Dittersdorfer Mühle and Bleißmühle. There used to be a glassworks at Sklársky potok.
The upper reaches of the Plazský potok leads to the tributary of the Sklársky potok through a spruce-alder forest, about one kilometer southwest of Heřmánky the middle reaches of the brook through reed-overgrown grassland with swamps, willow bushes and remnants of alluvial forest and moorland. European beavers are native to this section and there are rare plant species, including Roß-Marinweiden, Wiesen-Siegwurz, Prussian laser herb, large water hoses and meadow irises.
The entire stream is in the European Libavá bird sanctuary and partly in the Libavá FFH area.
