Ploetz is the name of a noble family from New Markets . There is also a Pomeranian family from another tribe, Ploetz (Pomerania) .

The family first appears in a document in 1308 with Henric Plotze . With Bernd Plotze , mentioned in a document in 1316 and landlord on Wartenberg (Neumark), the direct line of tribe began . The family has been recorded in Pomerania since 1509. From 1687 Joachim von Plötz built the Saxon manor house Röcknitz . From 1856 to 1905 the Niederlausitz manor Döllingen was owned by the Ploetz.

The Prussian name extension as von Ploetz called von Krause took place on July 15, 1907 in Tromsø ( Norway ) on board the yacht Hohenzollern with a letter of nobility from September 16, 1907, issued at Wilhelmshöhe Castle near Kassel , for Berthold von Ploetz (* 1903).
