Friedrich August Berthold von Ploetz , also Ploetz-Döllingen (born August 9, 1844 in Potsdam , †  July 24, 1898 at Gut Döllingen ) was a German politician and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

He was the son of the Prussian lieutenant colonel and landowner Hermann von Ploetz (1816–1879), landlord on Döllingen, and his first wife Bertha Freiin von der Recke (1814–1848). After attending the cadet institute , Ploetz was an active officer from 1862 to 1864. After his military career, he pursued his duties as a landowner on the family estate. He took part in the campaigns of the German War (1866) and the Franco-German War (1870/71) as an officer in the Landwehr and was dismissed as captain .

Ploetz married on April 20, 1869 in Braunschweig Anna Lüders (born December 9, 1846 in Küstrin , † August 18, 1903 in Berlin ), the daughter of Chief Preacher Adolph Lüders and Auguste Boldt. The couple had two daughters Ella and Margarete and their son Hermann.

After the death of his father, Ploetz inherited the parental estate Döllingen. He was head of office , district deputy and member of the provincial parliament . In 1892 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives and in mid-1893 to the German Reichstag , of which he was a member until his death. Here he joined the German Conservative Party . From 1888 he was chairman of the German farmers 'union and in February 1893 he became one of the founders of the farmers' union , of which he was also elected chairman.

In the Reichstag and also in the Prussian House of Representatives, Ploetz was the spokesman for the so-called great means for eliminating the agricultural emergency.

After his death, Conrad von Wangenheim became chairman of the BdL.
