Poign is a village in the municipality of Pentling near Regensburg .

Poign is located in the district of the same name on the state road 2143 and about seven hundred meters east of the A 93 . It is the southernmost part of the parish of Pentling. On the southern outskirts of the village, the Wolkeringer Mühlbach flows eastwards in the direction of Köfering to the Pfatter .

The oldest settlements in what is now Pentling municipality were probably in Poign and date from the 6th or 7th century. The former municipality of Poign in the district of Regensburg existed until 1978 and was almost completely incorporated into Pentling, Gemling was incorporated into the Bad Abbach market . In 1987 the place had 121 inhabitants.
