Point of Fethaland
Points of Fethaland even Fethaland Point is a cape in the north of Mainland , the main island of about Scotland scoring Shetlands . It lies at the end of a spur from Northmavine , which, increasingly narrowing, merges into the peninsulas of Fethaland and Isle of Fethaland . Immediately in front of the cape are several small rock islands, including Stuack in the north, Trunka in the east and, at a distance of a few hundred meters, Inner and Outer Booth in the northwest. To the island of Gruney in the north it is about one and a half kilometers.
Point of Fethaland not only marks the northernmost point of Mainland, but also the border between two seas. The International Hydrographic Organization draws a line east from here to the Isle of Yell ; it separates the North Atlantic in the north and west from the North Sea , here in the form of the Yell Sound , in the southeast. From the Point of Fethaland the nature reserve ( SSSI ) Uyea - North Roe Coast extends along the coast to the west to the island of Uyea .
