The Pointe Helbronner ( Italian Punta Helbronner ) is a 3462  m high mountain in the Alps . It is located in the Savoy Alps in the Mont Blanc group between the Grand Flambeau and the Aiguilles Marbrées on the watershed between Savoy and the Aosta Valley .

The mountain peak was named after Paul Helbronner , a French alpinist and geodesist who had made great contributions to mapping the French Alps.

On the Pointe Helbronner there is the mountain station of the Funivie Monte Bianco , the cable car from La Palud near Courmayeur via the Rifugio Torino to Pointe Helbronner, and the start and end station of the circulating small cable car Vallée Blanche , which goes over the Glacier du Géant and the Vallée Blanche floats to the Aiguille du Midi .

The Pointe Helbronner is also the starting point of the ski run over the Glacier du Géant to the end of the Vallée Blanche and further over the Mer de Glace to the Chemin de fer du Montenvers and on to Chamonix as well as for numerous high mountain tours to the neighboring peaks.

The Pointe Helbronner offers a wide view over the Aosta Valley and Piedmont .

New construction of the Funivie Monte Bianco

Construction of the new Funivie Monte Bianco began in early 2012. On May 30, 2015, the 360 ° Skyway Monte Bianco cable car to Pointe Helbronner was inaugurated.
