The cross at the crash site of the An-24

Until the end of the First World War , the Polica lay on the border between the crown land of Galicia and Hungary and only became part of Poland as a result of the division of the Arwa area , the former Hungarian Arwa County .

On 2 April 1969 24 An-collided a fully staffed Antonov of LOT with the mountain. In 2003 and 2009 a plaque and a memorial were erected at the crash site.
