Polluted Inheritance was a Dutch technical death metal band from Terneuzen , Zeeland , that was founded in 1989 and split again in 2008.

history

The band was founded in August 1989 by drummer Friso van Wijck and bassist Menno de Fouw (both from the previously disbanded band Sacrament) and guitarists Ronald Camonier and Erwin Wesdorp (previously with Pollution). In 1990 singer Jean-Paul Hoorman joined the band. Together they recorded their first two demo tapes. The following year the band released their first demo. It contained six songs and was named Afterlife . This attracted the attention of West Virginia Records and signed a contract there. The band was on both the compilation No Control ... About Your Feelings of DSFA Records as on the compilation Cries of the Unborn to hear from West Virginia Records. On the latter, the band was represented with five of the six songs from the demo Afterlife . In 1992 singer Hoorman left the band, so guitarist Ronald Camonier now also took on the role of singer.

In September 1992 she recorded her debut album called Ecocide and released the album that same year. Shortly after the album was released, the West Virginia Records label went bankrupt, leaving the band again without the support of a label. In the following years the band worked on new material and released a new demo in April 1994. Songs from the demo could be heard on DSFA Records' compilation Paradise of the Underground . Polluted Inheritance played over the years with many bands such as Sodom , Antropomorphia , Phlebotomized , Sick of It All , Ancient Rites Sadist , Gorefest , Dead Head , Suffocation , Chemical Breath , Acrostichon , The Gathering or SOB

In 1996 the band signed a contract with DSFA Records. In April the album Betrayed was released. At the end of the year some gigs with the Dutch band Orphanage followed . Shortly after the album was released, the band split from their label again. In the following years the band developed new pieces and recorded the album Into Darkness in January 2001 . In April 2001 bassist Menno de Fouw made his last appearance in Vlissingen, the Netherlands . A month later he was replaced by Steven Vrieswijk. A few months later the band reached a contract with Rokarola Records . In November 2001 Into Darkness was released on the label.

On 31 August 2008, the band announced on their Myspace - Blog announced their resolution.
