Constantine Delcroix

Konstantin Delcroix (born May 21, 1894 in Munich ; † October 1, 1982 ibid) was a German actor and director .

Life

After graduating from Ludwigsgymnasium in Munich, Delcroix initially studied medicine for eight semesters. Then he switched to theater studies and mainly attended Artur Kutscher's lectures . Eugen Roth was one of his fellow students . He began his stage work as a dramaturge in Stuttgart . Immediately after the First World War, Delcroix decided to switch to acting and took lessons from Albert Steinrück . Soon afterwards he could be seen at the Prinzregententheater in Munich in the summer of 1919 in the play Nordic Heerfahrt ', where he played the farmer Kaare. As early as the beginning of the 1920s he was working at the Bavarian State Theaters and appeared under the direction of Karl Zeiß at the side of respected colleagues such as Friedrich Basil , Eugen Gura , Friedrich Ulmer and Gustav Waldau .

Appointed state actor , Delcroix remained loyal to the Bavarian State Theaters until 1945 (from 1938: Bavarian State Theater) and began to stage plays there under the direction of Alexander Golling . After the Second World War, Delcroix worked on other (and now much smaller) Munich theaters such as the Kleine Komödie, the Münchner Volkstheater, of which he was also a member of the stage director, and the Theater der Jugend.

In the 1960s, Delcroix, who had been in front of the camera since the mid-1950s, concentrated on television work. His role in numerous productions with the character of a folk play was that of the simple, Bavarian local, whom he put on at times stubborn and grumpy, at times gnarled and sullen, but often also originally and funny. Delcroix types were often servants and peasants, servants and low officials.

Konstantin Delcroix also worked as an acting teacher, one of his students was Rudolf Vogel . Delcroix was married and had an also acting son (Michael) and a daughter.
