Toyota Owners 400 (since 2013)

The Toyota Owners 400 is a race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup held at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond , Virginia . The races were named from 2007 to 2011 after people who won a Crown Royal- sponsored writing competition during the Daytona 500 festivities .

The race itself is held as a night race in early May. For several years it was run as a day race on the weekend after the Daytona 500 in February. Consistent cold weather and even a postponement due to snow in 1989 ensured that the officials postponed the race to May. When a floodlight system was installed on the racetrack in 1991, it was initially a day race before it was converted into a night race.
