An artist couple in the restaurant is concerned about their moral integrity and wants to know everything about the origin and life of the chicken they are about to eat. To do this, they embark on a journey full of experiences. Jason from LA 's music video Dream of the 90’s states that the dream of the 90s is still alive in Portland. Fred and Carrie try Mind-Fi, a telepathy app. In the feminist bookstore Women and Women First , a visitor arrives who only uses the toilet at first and thus maneuvers himself into an uncomfortable situation. For the Portlands Hide and Seek League, two teams play hide and seek in the public library, so the organizer Stuart comes into contact with the long-established Portland population.

Portland's alternative bicycling mayor wants Fred and Carrie to write a Portland song . The two artists communicate several ideas by phone and present the result of their work to the mayor after the usual technical teething problems. The hate-loving, media-savvy concept artist couple Bryce Shivers and Lisa Eversman go to a shop to spray, paint, embroider and scratch songbirds on the goods, but are allergic to live birds. The vegan hardcore cyclist makes Portland unsafe and fails at his apartment door. A student tries to buy a book in the feminist bookstore Women and Women First , which fails because of the established mentality of the owners. This manifests itself in the physical inability to take the desired book off the shelf. A couple committed to animal rights vigorously takes care of a dog that is tied to a bicycle stand with a leash. A queer (or especially heteronormative ) couple agrees Cacao as a code word for a stop in love life. The relationship almost fails because of this arrangement.

Fred and Carrie's new cleaning lady turns out to be her favorite singer, Aimee Mann . The two oscillate between unconditional admiration and harsh criticism of Aimee's cleaning work. The vegan hardcore cyclists tried the collection to withdraw by the mainstream. Two manga style Japanese tourists drink coffee. A queer (or especially heteronormative ) couple receives a package and uses the packaging material in a creative way. A punk couple is talking on the cell phone. An experienced stripper leads a new colleague. An alternative pair containert ingredients for a soup.

On the occasion of the Blunderbass Festival, famous musicians are in town or in the Deuce Hotel, whose employees try to be as cool as possible. For the lesser-known musician Sparkle Pony, access to the festival is difficult and accompanied by insults. In a hotel outside of Portland, she finally finds the attention of the staff who try to be as cool as possible. For an acupuncture treatment, two very idiosyncratic experimental musicians were hired to inspire the patient. "Finding Mr. Write" by the Warnicker Brothers will be screened at the Blunderbuss Film Festival, followed by a conversation with the directors in the cinema.

The Mayor of Portland hires Fred and Carrie to put together a baseball team for Portland. There is a very creative advertising trailer about "Unemployment in Portland". An artisan presents his hand-blown light bulbs. A diary workshop takes place in the feminist bookstore. In the "Porchlight" restaurant, unusual photos are taken by the very media-conscious kitchen crew for the Portland Dining Guide. A hipster couple that takes up a lot of space and has little empathy takes part in an open-air film screening in the park.

Season 7
In February 2015, IFC extended the series by two more seasons, each of which will consist of 10 episodes. Season 6 ran from January to March 2016, season 7 is expected to air from January 2017.
