The Portuguese-Chadian relations describe the intergovernmental relationship between Portugal and Chad . The states have had direct diplomatic relations since 1977.

Relationships are unencumbered, but comparatively poorly developed. Most recently, the most important point of contact was the Portuguese participation in the European military mission EUFOR Tchad / RCA in Chad between March 2008 and March 2009.

In 2017, 5 citizens of Chad were registered in Portugal, in 2009 9 Portuguese were registered as consular in Chad, not including military personnel.

The civil war in Chad had previously escalated again. At the beginning of February, five Portuguese citizens were flown back to Portugal via Paris.

Civil society actors from Portugal are also active in Chad. The Portuguese aid organization Assistência Médica Internacional (AMI) first came to the country in 2004 to take care of refugees from Darfur . Since April 2013, the support of the Dono Manga hospital in the southern Tandjilé Est department ( Tandjilé region ) has been the main AMI project in Chad, which carries out medical projects there and finances almost half of the hospital. Through church organizations such as the Jesuit Refugee Service JRS, helpers from Portugal continue to come to Chad, especially to support the Sudanese refugees there.
