Post is the third solo album by Icelandic singer and songwriter Björk , released on June 13, 1995. It is the second album that was released after Björk's separation from the Sugarcubes .

The album mainly takes up the typical style of sound technology from the previous album Debut (1993), which has already enjoyed great success. In the songs of the post album, elements of techno and dance music are also used as a variation .

As a contrast to the otherwise mainly electronically colored sound of the album Post a was cover version of Blow a Fuse recorded what on Björk's soft spot for the old Hollywood is due -Liedgenre. On Post , the text, originally by American actress and singer Betty Hutton , has been changed to It's Oh So Quiet .

Post has been in collaboration with Nellee Hooper , Tricky , Graham Massey of 808 State and Electronica -producer Howie B created. With the success of the Post album , Björk was also able to prove herself internationally as an independent artist. It reached number 373 on Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time in 2003 .

Trivia

  • Numerous recordings of the songs were made for the album Post , including I Go Humble, which was later released as a B-side and as a bonus track .
  • Cover Me was recorded as the original recording in a bats- inhabited cave in Nassau with a dictaphone . This recording was then discarded in favor of a studio recording .
