The Pot family was a Burgundian aristocratic family who first came to influential offices in the 15th century. They were in the service of the Duke of Burgundy until, after the death of Duke Charles the Bold in 1477, they sided with the King of France, then Louis XI. , changed.

A younger line of the family came to prominence in the 16th century when the office of master of ceremonies and later (1585) of the Grand Master of Ceremonies of France was created at the French court ; the office was held by members of the Pot family until 1705.
