Prabhu Edouard (born November 1969 in Tiruchirappalli ) is an Indo-French tabla player who also works in the world music and jazz genre .

Live and act

Edouard, who grew up in France from 1975, chose the Hindustan tabla as an instrument despite his southern Indian origins , which he studied with Shankar Ghosh in Calcutta between 1993 and 1999 . He performed with musicians such as Hariprasad Chaurasia , Lakshmi Shankar , VG Jog , Aashish Khan , Debashish Bhattacharya , Tanjur Vishwanathan , Shashank Subramanyam or Kushal Das to present Hindustan music. He has also presented solo programs for tabla and also played with TV Gopalakrishnan as well as in world music contexts. He also accompanied Rohini Bhate , Astad Debu and Rajendra Gangani . He also played with Maurice Béjart and Jean-Pierre Drouet .

In the field of jazz, he first performed with Malik Mezzadri , currently with Nguyên Lê ; he also runs a duo with Joachim Kühn and the trio FEW with Renaud Garcia-Fons and Louis Winsberg . He also worked with Jordi Savall , Moriba Koïta , Saïd Shraïbi , Kudsi Ergüner , Sandip Chaterjee and Jamchid Chemiran .
