The Lower Bavarian Predigtstuhl is a 1024 m high mountain in the Bavarian Forest , in the wooded ridge between the Pröller ( 1049 m ) and the Hirschenstein ( 1092 m ) high above the Danube valley with an arch .
In summer the Predigtstuhl is a popular hiking mountain, several paths lead from St. Englmar or Kollnburg to the highest point, and the E8 long-distance hiking trail runs over the summit. In winter it is part of the Sankt Englmar ski area , which also includes the neighboring Pröller and is one of the most important in the Bavarian Forest.

There are two ski areas at the Predigtstuhl, the Predigtstuhl Arena ( spelling Predigtstuhl ARENA ) and the Markbuchen lifts; these ski areas do not belong to a common tariff association. The main slope of the Predigtstuhl Arena is equipped with snow-making and floodlights .
