Ɔ (lower case ɔ) is a letter in the Latin writing system . While he often, u. a. in Unicode is called an “open O”, the typographical character is mostly realized as a C which is point-mirrored at the bottom left . The letter is contained in the Africa alphabet as well as in the Pannigerian alphabet and is used in many African languages, e.g. in Ewe , for the rounded half-open back vowel . The lowercase letter ɔ also stands for this sound in the international phonetic alphabet .
