Preobrashenka ( Ukrainian and Russian Преображенка ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Kherson with about 1500 inhabitants.
The village was founded in 1783 was between 1930 and March 17, 2016 Tscherwonyj Tschaban (Ukrainian Червоний Чабан; literally "Red Shepherd"), located in the Kalanchak Raion 36 km southwest of Rajonzentrum Kalantschak on the highway M-17 , the railway Kherson-Kerch and the North Crimean Canal near the Isthmus of Perekop on the border with Crimea . The Wadym ( Вадим ) railway station, built in 1944, is located on the railway line near the village .
South of the town is since the Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation of the checkpoint Kalantschak over which the traffic on the highway M-17 and from the Crimea is controlled. On the road from Chaplynka to Perekop , east of the village, is the Chaplynka checkpoint .
Preobraschenka is the center of the 175.77 km² district council of the same name, which also includes the villages
