Priaires is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Val-du-Mignon with 118 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ).

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Priaires merged with Thorigny-sur-le-Mignon and Usseau to form the Commune nouvelle Val-du-Mignon. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Priaires belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne (until 2015 Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon ).

geography

Priaires is located about 55 kilometers east of La Rochelle and about 25 kilometers southwest of Niort . The Mignon delimits the Commune déléguée in the north. Priaires was surrounded by the neighboring communities of Usseau in the north, Thorigny-sur-le-Mignon in the east, Dœuil-sur-le-Mignon in the southeast, Marsais in the south and Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois in the west.
