Priesitz is a town and part of the city of Bad Schmiedeberg in the Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Priesitz is located about 25 km southeast of Lutherstadt Wittenberg in the glacial valley of the Elbe on the edge of the Dübener Heide nature reserve .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1290. The late Gothic winged altar in the Elbschiffer church in the village is the carving of an unknown master .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Sachau was incorporated. Today the place belongs to the village of Priesitz.
The formerly independent municipality of Priesitz with the Sachau part of Bad Schmiedeberg has been since July 1st, 2009 . The last mayor was Bernd-Uwe Edler.
Regular events
Every year the Seefest is held at the beginning of July as a village festival.

The federal highway 182 , which connects Wittenberg and Torgau , is approx. 0.5 km. The Pretzsch – Torgau railway runs west of the village.
