Primank is a district of the municipality of Spornitz in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Geography and traffic
The street village is about ten kilometers southwest of Parchim . The federal highway 191 runs about one kilometer to the west. The state capital Schwerin can be reached with the federal motorway 24 (A24) in 35 kilometers. The Autobahn 24 passes the village about a kilometer away. The place is about 1.5 kilometers long and has a continuous street, Primanker Dorfstraße . It turns into a forest path at the edge of the forest and ends at the Kiekindemark / Stolpe intersection. A bus connection runs through Primank and the next train station is in Spornitz.
To the north of the village edge there are several ponds with a total area of around 20 hectares . These are fed by several unnamed land ditches that drain from the swamp area one kilometer to the east. These do not have a receiving water and their water evaporates or seeps away again in the area around Primank.
history
Primank was first mentioned in a document in 1273.
In the 14th century the place went under completely again and was probably only repopulated after the Thirty Years War .
A listed war memorial from 1914/18 stands in the middle of the village.
In 1930 Primank had 96 inhabitants and belonged to the Steinbeck community. At that time there were two farmers in the village, eight Büdner , eight cottagers , an inn and a mill.
In World War II, many houses were destroyed and never rebuilt. On the back fields and in the adjacent northern forest you can still find remnants of the desolate fallen Primanker courtyards . A partially destroyed barn is also at the end of the village.
In 1953 a type I LPG called "Neue Zeit" was founded in Primank . Primank as a cooperative joined the LPG "Freiheit" Spornitz in 1968.
In 2008, Primank celebrated its 735th anniversary.
