The Prince Abdulaziz is one of the mega yachts that was owned by the Saudi Arabian royal family until 2018 .
history
With a length of 147 meters, the ship built as Abdul Aziz was the longest and largest motor yacht in the world at the time of delivery and retained this status for 22 years, so that it is now considered the largest luxury yacht of the 20th century.
She was built in 1983/84 as the last ship of the Helsingør Værft in Denmark according to a design by Maierform . The completion of the interior was completed after the bankruptcy of the Southampton shipyard.
The first owner was the King of Saudi Arabia Fahd ibn Abd al-Aziz . After his death in 2005, his half-brother Abdullah ibn Abd al-Aziz is given as the owner. Ownership and operation of the ship were transferred to Red Sea Management International Limited in 2005 . In 2015 the Al Baraim Ji HH Princess took over the yacht and the operation of the ship has been carried out by the company Master Yachts Consultancy in Palma de Mallorca since January 2015 . In June 2018 the ship was transferred to the company Pelagos Limited and brought under the flag of the Marshall Islands .
The 147 meter long ship has a width of 18.3 meters and a draft of 4.9 meters. It has two 5816 kW Pielstick diesel units for the drive. The cruising speed is 18 knots, the maximum speed 22 knots. In full operation, the yacht requires a crew of 60 to 65 people. The interior designer was David Nightingale Hicks .
