history
The Princesa Isabel was built under construction number 104 at Sociedad Española de Construcción Naval in Bilbao and launched on January 18, 1961. After the takeover on August 30, 1962 by Lloyd Brasileiro, the ship was used in liner service on the Brazilian coast.
In October 1969, it was sold to the Dominion Navigation Company, based in Melbourne , and renamed Marco Polo . The ship was henceforth used for cruises from Australia to Asia . In 1978 it went to the Greek company Kavounides Lines as Aquamarine to be put into service in the liner service from Hong Kong to Kobe .
In 1980 the Aquamarine in Hong Kong was converted into a cruise ship and used from then on for trips to China and Australia. After the ship was taken over in 1981 after the bankruptcy of its owner from the Commercial Bank of Greece, we went to the resting of Eleusis .
After seven years of berth, the Aquamarine went to the Greek Epirotiki Lines as Odysseus in 1988 , in order to be used for cruises in the Mediterranean . In 1995, Epirotiki merged with Sun Lines to form Royal Olympic Cruises , which means that the ship, like all units in the fleet, continued to sail for this shipping company.
After Royal Olympic Cruises went bankrupt in 2004, the Odysseus went to investors in Asia as Lucky Star in May 2005 , first in Macau and from 2006 in Singapore as a casino ship. In 2008 the ship was finally scrapped in Alang, India, under the transfer name Lucky after 46 years of service .
