Priscilla Lopes-Schliep (born Lopes ; born August 26, 1982 in Scarborough , Ontario ) is a Canadian hurdler who specializes in the 100-meter course .

Life

Priscilla Lopes-Schliep is 1.63 m tall and weighs 67 kg. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in sociology in 2006 , with her husband Bronsen Schliep on their basketball team, and currently lives in Whitby, Ontario . Due to a genetic mutation, she suffers from lipodystrophy , a metabolic disease.

successes

In 2004 she became indoor champion of the NCAA over 60 meter hurdles and outdoor runner-up over 100 meter hurdles. At the Olympic Games in Athens , she was eliminated in advance. The following year she was again NCAA runner-up and came at the World Championships in Helsinki in the semi-finals.

2006 she set her personal record on June 9 in Sacramento with 12.60 s. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, she did not get beyond the run.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she won the bronze medal behind Dawn Harper (USA) and Sally McLellan (AUS) at the same time with 12.64 seconds in a photo finish . The second and sixth of the finals were separated by only two hundredths of a second.

In 2009 she was able to win the silver medal at the World Championships in Berlin with a new personal best of 12.54 s .
